American Energy Security Summit Roundtable

Washington, Sept. 28 (BNA): Shaikh Abdulla bin Rashid Al Khalifa, Bahraini Ambassador to the US, has affirmed that the Bahrain-US cooperation agreements, foremost of which the Comprehensive Security Integration and Prosperity Agreement, signed by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, during HRH’s visit to Washington earlier this month, not only strengthen bilateral security ties, but also consolidate economic relations and exchange of experiences in the technological field between the two countries.

The ambassador made the statements while participating in the American Energy Security Summit sponsored by the Hamm Institute for American Energy in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The summit was moderated by Dr. Victoria Coates, former Deputy National Security Advisor for Middle East and North African Affairs.

Addressing the American Energy Security Summit, Shaikh Abdulla bin Rashid Al Khalifa reviewed several key topics, including geopolitical stability and Bahrain’s pioneering diplomacy, in addition to the kingdom’s cooperation with the USA and its commitment to the Abraham Accords, as well as the possibility of other regional countries following suit.

While tackling the energy sector, the envoy shed light on the developments made by Bahrain, including its multiple partnerships with American companies in achieving common goals in this regard.

It is worth noting that in addition to the Bahraini Ambassador, the American Energy Security Summit was attended by a number of former US ministers and officials, namely by Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, Attorney General William Barr, Secretary of Transportation Elaine Chao, Secretary of Labour Eugene Scalia, and former US Ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley, in addition to several former and current government leaders, as well as senior executives of leading US energy companies.
